Vote “Yes” for a 50 metre pool at Harry Jerome!

Promoting the development of an all purpose pool in North Vancouver. A pool for all ages and multiple activities for aquatic interest.

We need a pool that will address the needs of all citizens of North Vancouver both present and future. The pool must be a multi-function facility enabling multiple groups, multiple users and multiple sports. The cost analysis submitted by a City hired consulting firm shows the cost differential between a 10-lane 25m pool and an 8-lane 50m pool is $4.6 million; over three times the flexibility and twice the size of pool for only 1¼ times the cost of a 25m pool. A purposeful pool will bring in an estimated economic benefit in excess of $2 million a year to the local community.

What’s more impressive, is that through leasing and developing of the current Harry Jerome site, the City is able to get a $212 million facility for roughly $30 million.  This is equivalent to purchasing a new house valued a $1.5 million for less than $200,000!

We need and can afford this facility.
